Other Treatment Considerations
In years gone by getting braces as an adult was difficult. Many orthodontists only offered treatment to young people in their teenage years.
Trends and understanding of orthodontics have changed and it is now understood that teeth can be moved right the way through into adulthood. When this is coupled with rapid braces and clear braces such as the Inman aligner then having braces as an adult is now something which is far more available to everyone.
Because the Inman aligner has a revolutionary spring mechanism which is active it can straighten teeth much faster than Invisalign braces. The front section of the Inman aligner is also clear making them as invisible as Invisalign, at least for the front six teeth.
Both Inman aligner and Invisalign are removable orthodontics and will work best if you keep them in place for at least 20 hours per day, only removing them to clean.
The Inman aligner generally has a low-cost than Invisalign as it does not require multiple aligners to straighten teeth.
Wherever possible your dentist or orthodontist will prefer to use dental braces rather than veneers. Dental braces move your natural teeth with out having to remove any healthy tooth structure.
Very often, dental veneers will require a thin layer to be removed from the front of your tooth, this process is irreversible. Dental braces are the most minimally invasive way to get straighter teeth but do take longer than having dental veneers which can be fitted in as little as two weeks.
Treatment times for the Inman aligner are estimated on the assumption that you wear your aligner for at least 20 hours per day. If you wear your aligner for less time than this then the treatment time will be extended significantly.
If you only wear your aligner at night, typically eight hours thing you would at least be doubling the amount of time that your treatment takes. If you intend to only wear your Inman aligner at night then it might be best to consider another form of orthodontic treatment.

Most cases are completed within 6-18 weeks. Your Inman Aligner dentist will give you a realistic guide of what to expect.
For suitable cases, the Inman Aligner is usually much faster than alternative orthodontic techniques.
As with any orthodontic appliance, the Aligner can feel a little uncomfortable for the first few days. After a week, most patients are used to their Aligner and have no problems wearing it.
The Inman Aligner will affect your speech for a week or two. You will however acclimate to the appliances over time and be able to speak fine with them in place.
Compliance is paramount. The Aligner will only work if you wear it everyday for the treatment time.
Ideally patients should wear the Aligner for 20 hours a day maximum. Any less and the treatment could take longer to complete.
It should always be removed before eating and you should clean your teeth and your Aligner before you refit it back into your mouth. It is okay to take your aligner out for photos, special occasions and eating as long as this is not for longer than a few hours.
The Inman Aligner is used mainly to straighten the anterior teeth, whereas invisible braces can straighten all your teeth. However, treatment with the Inman Aligner is usually less expensive and quicker.
Most cases are completed in 6-18 weeks, whereas cases with invisible braces typically take more than 6 months.
If you have mild to moderate crowding or protrusion of you front teeth you may well be a suitable candidate for Inman Aligner treatment. Only a certified Inman Aligner dentist will be able to confirm suitability of each individual case.
All orthodontic treatment can carry risks but so far in over 20,000 cases provided there have been no reported instances of loss of tooth vitality or root resorption.
