Tooth Decay & Impacted Wisdom Teeth

Our modern, friendly and comfortable dental practice provides expert oral surgery in Twickenham, with a highly qualified dentist and team of trained and experienced nurses.

Patients who have advanced tooth decay or an impacted wisdom tooth should contact Montrose Smile Studio as soon as possible. Before we can safely extract a tooth, patients will be given a local anaesthetic to help them from feeling any pain or major discomfort. We also offer sedation options to anxious patients so by providing minor oral surgery at our practice, we can treat patients without them having to be referred to the nearest hospital.

Our dental practice is equipped with the necessary surgical and recovery facilities and we can offer appointments without delay.

After surgery, patients usually experience light swelling and discomfort. This can be eased away with normal painkillers.

Sedation for Anxious Patients

Most invasive dental treatments and oral surgery procedures are carried out under local anesthetic. This involves a tiny injection into the gum to numb the area being treated. With a local anesthetic the patient will remain awake throughout the surgical procedure.

For nervous patients, we can offer oral or intravenous sedation options. Intravenous (IV) sedation is where a sedative is passed through the vein in the back of the hand.

Oral surgery may be necessary for various dental or oral health issues that cannot be resolved with non-invasive treatments. Common reasons include impacted teeth, tooth loss requiring dental implants, jaw pain or misalignment, oral infections or abscesses, facial trauma, cysts or tumours, severe sleep apnoea, or chronic sinus problems related to dental issues.

It may also be recommended for orthodontic reasons or when persistent pain and discomfort persist despite standard treatments.

Our oral surgeon will assess your condition, review xrays, and provide personalised treatment options to determine if oral surgery is needed.
